In reality, however, jet lag is a temporary disorder of the body of those who make long journeys, which &#8220;cross&#8221; world time zones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This chronobiological problem is caused by the asynchrony created in the body&#8217;s circadian rhythm during a meridian journey. What is the &#8220;circadian rhythm&#8221;? In simple words, it is the internal &#8220;clock&#8221; of every human organism. The one that normally controls and regulates any changes in body functions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The greater the difference between the time of the destination and the local time of each traveler, the more pronounced the jet lag. It has been confirmed that its symptoms become even more intense when the travel destination is in the east, rather than in the west, because the body has difficulty adjusting to the shorter day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The speed of adjustment of the traveler to the time of the distant destination depends on each individual. Some people take several days to adjust to a new time zone, while others experience minimal disruption. This tactic will help you start operating on time at your destination from the moment you board the plane and stay awake once you arrive. Eat your lunch when it&#8217;s noon in the location you&#8217;re going, your dinner, respectively, and adjust your bedtime again, in the same context. If you have trouble getting back to sleep, make sure to bring a sleep mask or earplugs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the flight, aim to stay hydrated by consuming water and fresh juices. Dehydration can make jet lag symptoms even worse, so avoid alcohol and caffeine, which may disrupt your sleep.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Many air travel workers manage jet lag symptoms by taking melatonin, but in any case you need to get your doctor&#8217;s approval before taking any medication. Melatonin is a hormone that the body produces during the night or in dark conditions, and taking such a preparation helps to relieve the symptoms of jet lag.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now that you&#8217;ve arrived at your destination, to help your body reset smoothly, don&#8217;t hesitate to soak up as much sunlight as you can. As well, if you feel you need it, give yourself a short nap. In this case, make sure you sleep for 20 to 30 minutes beforehand. In no case should you sleep so much that you spoil your night&#8217;s sleep.
