The pandemic period is a fact that accelerated developments globally for a variety of professional sectors, pushing both companies\/businesses and citizens to rapidly adapt to the new data.<\/p>\n

The changes that have taken place – and are still taking place – have already succeeded in establishing new living and working conditions, forming new habits and optimistic perspectives.<\/p>\n

Digital conferences and electronic events in general are gaining ground on traditional ones day by day, thanks to the multiple benefits they offer through the use of the latest technological means.<\/p>\n

The reception to the digitalisation of events of all kinds has so far been particularly warm, both from organisers and participants.<\/p>\n

A recent survey by AIM Group International, a globally renowned company specialising in conferences & events, reveals that there is increasing interest from companies in holding purely digital events with 78% of respondents saying they are positive, while 72% express interest in hybrid events, combining physical presence with digital additions.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that the survey cited was of pharmaceutical and biomedical companies, illustrating the trend of internationally renowned companies to invest in digital events.<\/p>\n

Digital conferences and events: their types and benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n

The era of digital conferences and events is already here and more and more stakeholders from a variety of professional sectors tend to opt for the digital version.<\/p>\n

The types of digital events can be distinguished according to the degree of digitisation available to each one, in order to fully meet the specific requirements of each industry, and relate to different events, from professional conferences, global events to events in real or fictional virtual locations.<\/p>\n

Virtual events<\/strong> are purely digital, conducted exclusively over the Internet and may include 3D elements, so that participants can enjoy a sense of navigation and a “live” sense of participation, with immersive but totally realistic effects.<\/p>\n

Hybrid events<\/strong> combine the benefits of physical events with the simultaneous use of digital elements. They ensure more interactivity than traditional events, as they are enriched with digital advantages, but also manage to promote socialisation and the acquisition of face-to-face experiences and contacts.<\/p>\n

Multi-hub events<\/strong> refer to events with a physical presence that take place in different cities, countries and locations but are linked by a live broadcast, fully accessible on the Internet.<\/p>\n

Each digital event, thanks to the use of innovative technology, can be tailored to the needs of the organisers and participants, fulfilling the purpose of the event and widening its impact on the community of industry professionals and stakeholders in general.<\/p>\n

It is possible, with the modern technological means that now exist, to support perfectly from small online events and virtual conferences and exhibitions to world-class events with tens of thousands of participants from all over the world, at the lowest possible cost compared to their traditional versions.<\/p>\n

The use of digital media, which transforms events into electronic events, minimises the possibility of cancellation, while allowing stakeholders to participate in an amazing, friendly virtual environment that facilitates online communication between sponsors, organisers and participants, giving them the feeling of a real, physical event where they can interact with powerful communication tools at their disposal.<\/p>\n

To summarise the benefits of digital events, conferences and exhibitions over traditional events with a physical presence, perhaps the most important advantage relates to their availability and adaptability. It is possible to conduct and participate seamlessly, saving valuable time, reducing costs and making it entirely possible to conduct measurable performance results and valuable feedback.<\/p>\n
